Hunter Boots Fit Guide and Size Conversion
Functional, fashionable and instantly recognisable, Hunter boots are world renowned for not only their iconic design, but their impeccable quality and durability out in the field – be it sporting or festival! By pioneering a handcrafted manufacture process, Hunter offer robust, comfortable boots that are perfectly engineered to withstand the test of time. From farmer’s footwear to wet weather wellies for little adventurers, you can kit out the whole family with Hunter.
Hunter Boots Fit Guide
Hunter boots come in two distinct fits: Original and Field. Hunter Original boots are great for everyday wear, whether that’s splashing through puddles or trudging through the mud at music festivals. Hunter Field boots are practical boots that are entirely fit for purpose. Previously referred to as the Hunter Argyll boots, these hardwearing wellies are specifically designed for working and tackling rough terrains.
Regardless of their style, all Hunter boots run true to size. Hunter know you might want to wear a thicker sock with your wellies, therefore all of the boots have been made to accommodate this. Hunter recommend choosing your regular shoe size when buying their boots. If you are in between sizes, then the advice is to choose the smaller size.
Each style has individual leg lengths and calf widths. You can find the specific measurements in the ‘Product Measurements’ section of the product page beneath the description, however if you are still unsure, please contact us for further assistance or guidance.

We stock both infant and junior size 4 wellington boots; please ensure you have chosen the appropriate size before purchase to avoid disappointment.
Please note that the children’s size 4 and women’s size 4 boots have significantly different leg heights and therefore the children’s design will not act as a tall boot on an adult. The children’s boot will therefore finish around the widest point of an adult leg. This means the children’s size 4 may be more snug around the calf than the women’s, despite having the same calf width measurements.
This is because:
Children's Size 4 Leg Height: 34.5cm
Women's Size 4 Leg Height: 37.5cm
